Barony Bash Autotest . August 10th.

Many thanks to the SRUC Barony, for use of their field on Sunday for the latest round of the 2014 Craigie Bank Garage Autotest Championship.

The morning started off wet and although the field was perfectly useable when we went in, the rain persisted to the point where just getting moving was tricky for some of the competitors and it certainly wasnt a day for rear wheel drive but Drew McLean battled on manfully in the MX5.

This time, overall honours went to Danny Pattie but only six seconds ahead of his normal close competitor, Nathan Hogg with Dad Stephen third in class, all driving Corsas. Paul Whyte and Shirley Currie (Fiesta) contested class 2 with Paul’s Suzuki just coming out on top, having had to take a WD on test seven when a cone got wedged under his car. Chairman Tony Currie brought his Rover (‘the Kettle’ as he calls it) along and found that what is normally a competitive car had an embarrasment of power on the polished stubble/slippery mud combo that the field became.

Thanks to Roly P for running and timing the event – with help from Paul Whyte. Thanks also to Thelma Proudlock for putting the results into a readable format.
